Honey and Oatmeal Soap Recipe: A Soothing and Moisturizing DIY Soap

As we navigate our busy lives, it's easy to forget to take care of our skin. But what if you could create a soap that would nourish and moisturize your skin, while also providing a sense of calm and relaxation? Look no further! In this blog, we'll show you how to create a Honey and Oatmeal Soap using melt and pour soap base, that will transport you to a state of serenity and leave your skin feeling soft and supple.

Ingredients:
  • 500 grams of melt and pour soap base (you can use any type of soap base you like, but shea butter soap base or goat milk soap base works the best)
  • 15 grams of honey
  • 15 grams of oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla essential oil (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Melt the Soap Base: Cut the soap base into small cubes and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the soap base in 30-second intervals, stirring between each heating, until the soap base is completely melted.
  2. Add the Honey: Once the soap base is melted, add the honey and stir until well combined.
  3. Add the Oatmeal: Add the oatmeal and stir until well combined.
  4. Add the Vanilla Essential Oil (Optional): If you want to add a touch of warmth and comfort to your soap, add the vanilla essential oil and stir well.
  5. Pour into a Mold: Pour the soap mixture into a soap mold or a silicone candy mold. Make sure to get the mixture into all the corners of the mold.
  6. Let Set: Let the soap set and harden completely. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the soap.
  7. Unmold and Cut: Once the soap is set, remove it from the mold and cut it into bars.
Tips and Variations:
  • Use Raw Honey: If you want to get the most benefits from the honey, use raw honey instead of processed honey.
  • Add Other Ingredients: You can customize this recipe by adding other ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, or essential oils.
  • Change Up the Mold: If you want to create a different shape, use a different mold or silicone candy mold.
Benefits of Honey and Oatmeal:
  • Moisturizing: Honey and oatmeal are both natural moisturizers that will leave your skin feeling soft and supple.
  • Soothing: Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties that will help soothe irritated skin.
  • Antibacterial: Honey has antibacterial properties that will help keep your skin clean and free of bacteria.
Note: Do note that if you add any fresh ingredients in the soap, the soap shall get spoilt. The life of the soap shall be dependent on the shelf life of the fresh ingredient. Unlike a cold processed soap, wherein the lye preserves the fresh ingredients, there is no chemical reaction taking place in a melt and pour soap.
